Man, could things be ANY SLOWER in terms of Mewes news? (Oh...I made a funny...didn't mean it....pardon the pun). Anyway, in a desperate attempt to update this site, I got the following off of NewsAskew, May 99 Archive. It refers to Lucy You Love It. it was from a scooper named Jaded:
This has nothing to do with Mewes, but I recently watched Enemy of the State to appreciate another Jason Lee movie. That movie actually had me hooked...until Jason Lee died. Anyway, I recorded this cool soundwave from it. Click here to hear Jason going "Fuck a duck" followed by his classic "Holy shit." (His holy shit is the best there is!)

Hmm. My counter appears to be busted. If anyone knows what's wrong with it, please don't hesitate to tell me. Although, this might be a good thing, I don't have to see and notice how fast my readership is plummeting.
Hmmm....There's nothing to update with today, so I dug up some old Kevin Smith interview from the December 11 1997 issue of Total Film. Here he talks about Jay...
I: It's Jason Mewes, who plays Jay
and Alan Rickman in it (Dogma). They have scenes together?
K: Yeah. Which ought to be genius.
I: Jay's the character in all the films that all the males seem to love and all the
females absolutely detest.
K: Alanis Morissette - the singer - she loved the movie but hated Jason, she said that he
terrified her for some reason. It's funny because it's like an identity factor. People
keep saying to me 'I know a dude just like Jay'. So apparently there are more of him out
there.

Now there's not much to update with today...but the following excerpt comes from NewsAskew.
In lieu of "Tail Lights Fade" getting a distributor, Malcolm Ingram said a few words to a post about the elusive "Drawing Flies" today. Here he reveals a release date for Fade, and more. Read on:
Sounds pretty fuckin' cool to me. Flies didn't even come out here...I promise I'll have sounds from the movie when I get the tape.
Friday updates are gonna be rare, by the way. Another one of my sites is supposed to be updated every Friday. Click here to see it.

Today, I have those pictures I promised from
yesterday, and I added this site to a webring my friends and I put together. Check
it out, we've got some cool sites there, for various people of various tastes.
Let me address the header thing. Remember, I asked you guys if you could make a
better header for me, one that would go on a black background, and one a little more
rectangular than the one I have right now. Sort of like the NewsAskew header or the
ViewAskew banner (see below links). Thanks. I'd also like it if you could
somehow sneak Jay's face and the words "an unauthorized tribute" somewhere in
there. I'd make this myself, but I'M SORRY! I'M NOT COMPUTER LITERATE! I DON'T
KNOW HTML AND I CAN'T WORK WITH PAINT AND STUFF....
Now, for the pics. Once again, you can save them directly to your harddrive. I see Jay is wearing that Green Lantern shirt again. . .wonder if he sides with Kyle or Hal. . .

Hey! See, a few months ago, Wizard Magazine held a contest asking fans to portray Jay and Silent Bob as Yuletide mascots! Well, here's a scan of the winning picture, called "Jay's Delight" drawn by Tony Perna of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
By the way, some of you have actually asked how come my site seems to be a day ahead (go on, look at the date). One: I live in the Philippines, which means I "live in the future" in relation to people in the States, no matter which state (I know I'm living 16 hours ahead of San Francisco citizens) and Two: On my first day, Freeservers was experiencing technical problems and I couldn't upload anything, and on the second day, I had an update all ready. Basically, it's a trivial matter. You shouldn't mind it.
Oh yeah, by the way, if anyone out there can make a smaller logo for my site, and one that'd go on a black background, I'd be extremely grateful. Mail it to me here.
Well, that's all for now. Tomorrow, I've got pics of Mewes from the grad opening of the Secret Stash a few months back. Be seein' you guys!
June 24, 1999
Today, I was searching through Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash and I saw the "Snooched at Birth" T-shirt. What would happen if it was Bob and Silent Jay instead of Jay and Silent Bob??? Well, for one thing Ben Affleck would've kissed Jay instead of Kevin...Well, look at the picture! Once again, you can save this directly and it'll save in the original size.
A Jay fan named H. Thomas Leonard III sent me this query:
"Exit to Eden was on one of those movie channels recently and I saw a familiar face in one of the New Orleans street scenes. It looked like Jason. I stuck around through the credits and thought I saw his name in the credits. But I look at his filmography and on the IMDB entry for Exit to Eden and he's not there. Do you know if that is indeed him?"
Well, I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer. . . but maybe one of you does! Mail me for the answer!
Now, for Lucy You Love It news. Jay will once again be billed as Jay Phat Buds instead of "Cameo" in the movie, but he will still get top billing mainly because he is their biggest star and therefore has the most name draw.
I still can't believe the amount of feedback I'm getting! Keep sending me those emails, guys...I love getting 'em.
Hey, I forgot I haven't said thanks to NewsAskew yet! Well, Brad and Chris, THANK YOU! Thank you so much for the plug!
June 23, 1999
Today I got mail from FIVE different people praising my Mewes site and 28 people have answered the poll! Thank you for your support and I promise to keep honoring the great bluntman (or is that chronic???).
Anyway, today I got mail from the DIRECTOR of Lucy You Love It, Jesse Ray Boehm , and he gave me this address. Click on it for a shitload of Lucy pictures. I have all the Jay pictures from it right here. Save them directly onto your hard drive and it'll automatically save in its original size. He's in these pictures with the cast of the movie. By the way, his character's no longer credited as being Jay Phat Buds at The International Movie Database. Instead, he's the first one credited and he's credited as "Cameo." With only a cameo appearance, why does Jay get top billing? Hey, no complaints here. The guy he's with at the first picture from bottom left is the firector Jesse Ray. That Flash shirt's pretty cool. Seems Jay's a big comic book fan. Hey, it makes sense. He does work at the Secret Stash.
NewsAskew gave me a plug! Cool!
June 22, 1999
I now have a poll! Please answer it. Although I know I'll be lucky if I have even one person answer it each day.
Today you can get some Jay icons (four of them actually) available separately in Files Askew. Click here for the Jay icons (it also has a Jay cursor).
A few months ago in Wizard Magazine, Kevin Smith was asked who he would cast in a Superman movie. He cast Jay as Jimmy Olsen, Superman's nerdy pal. Kevin said it was a good excuse to substitute "By golly Miss Lane!" with "Snootch to the Nootch, Miss Lane!"
I dug through my old Jay pictures today and decided to post up three of them. You can save them directly onto your hard drive and it'll automatically save the original-size, bigger picture. First one is a picture of Jay with one of them wacky glasses and a Green Lantern T-Shirt. Pretty funny.
Now here's a picture of Jay and Kevin with Michael Keaton.
And now here's a picture of Jay with Cindy Crawford.

After much searching over the all-powerful Internet, I could not find any tribute to my favorite actor Jason Mewes, who plays Jay in the ViewAskew movies, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, and the upcoming Dogma (Clerks is my favorite). Ah well. As usual, it falls to Jay to make one. Yes, we have the same name, who cares. Anyway, a lot of the stuff about Jason can be found at NewsAskew.Com, which has plenty of links to Askew-related shrines. ViewAskew.com is the official website. The structure of this site is gonna be similar to NewsAskew (hope they're not pissed off at the way I'm ripping off their format). So, what's gonna happen is I'm gonna be putting up various stuff every other day or so. Sounds, pictures, stuff like that. Except videos, for two reasons: Freeservers has an idiotic rule wherein you cannot download anything over 260 K (but you can UPLOAD 260 k. go figure.) and ViewAskew has all the sounds and videos you'd already want. . .I'm just bringing in some rare sounds they missed. Let's start off this site with a Jay and Silent Bob picture from the fourth movie in the New Jersey Trilogy (huh?¿?) DOGMA. This film might be Jay and Silent Bob's final appearances as the movie characters, so you guys better see it! I don't know what it's about except it's got something to do with God, angels, and Alanis Morissette.

Jay and Bob, as usual, look cool. Want to see them looking cool again? Here's a pic from Chasing Amy. Click here for a Jay sound from Amy (this is in MPEG-Layer 3 Format). After Ben Affleck's character Holden details his girlfriend Alyssa's dark past, and how she's more experienced than he is, Ben asks what he's supposed to think on the matter. Jay answers "Think good you fucking ninny shithead. Now she'll be all Joe Blow an shit. Bitch tasted life, y'know. Now she's settlin' for your boring funnybook-making ass."

Here's a pic of Jay giving Dante a speech from Clerks. Hear a cut segment of the dialogue here, also available at the ViewAskew site, wherein Jay tells Dante, that, although he's a drug dealer, Dante's a bigger crook. This is in MPEG-Layer 3 Format by the way. Saves on the space. No transcription. This exchange must be HEARD.

Now here's a legendary picture of the Somnombulic Duo from Mallrats. For a Mallrats sound, click here. The sound? "DO IT DOUG!!!!!!"

Jason (who REALLY acts like Jay in real life) will have an adlibbed cameo appearance as Jay Phat Buds in a Mocumentary (a mock of a documentary for you who are mentally challenged) entitled Lucy You Love It.
Jay's movies also include Drawing Flies...It's another ViewAskew movie but does not involve Kevin Smith. A low-budget film in Canada, I don't really know anything else about it...I'd love to see it, but I live in the Philippines were obscure movies are almost impossible to find. He'll also be voicing the legendary Jay character on occassion witht he rest of the original Clerks cast in the upcoming Clerks Animated Series on ABC.
Click here for an interview Askew with Jay. He does really rare interviews, so read this one. He says a lot of stuff like what his reaction was to Clerks, roofing, how he met Kevin Smith, and the kind of roles he'd like to play in the future.
That's all for today. I think that's enough to start us off. I hopefully will be able to cultivate this into a bigger and better site, giving you people the latest Mewes-material available. Hopefully, we'll be visited, but...I dunno. Tune in tomorrow for more pics...and probably another sound. Like I said, go to NewsAskew and ViewAskew for a whole load of multimedia.
I am in no way related to Jason Mewes. This is an unauthorized tribute. And I don't even know him. Now, unless you for some reason find reading disclaimers sexually arousing, please go ahead to reading something more important. Like the rest of the page. Snootchie Bootchies.
